JavaScript Learning Resources 2016

The Chinese philosopher Laozi famously wrote in the Tao Te Ching that “a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. I think this is the perfect metaphor to keep in mind when confronting any new daunting task. In our case the mountain before us is JavaScript, and our task is learning JavaScript.

Many beginner books cover the basic syntax you might have encountered in old-style, web page JavaScript. However, JavaScript has moved way beyond its simple beginnings into a full fledged, full-stack power house that lives on nearly all modern browsers and connected devices. I believe the list of books on the following page will help you harness all the possibilities JavaScript offers.

If you are ready to jump into the raging headwaters of the JavaScript ecosystem, then there is no better place to start then with the resources listed in “The Great JavaScript Expedition”.
